Three months after Duck Commander founder Phil Robertson died, his family hosted a public celebration of his life that resulted in 100 baptisms.

Phil Robertson passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 79. He left behind a legacy shaped by his conversion to Christianity, leaving behind a life of drinking, drug use, and infidelity. He spent the last fifty years of his life pointing people to Christ, a mission that his family promises to continue.

On Sunday, August 31, the Robertson family hosted Duck Commander Sunday in honor of their patriarch’s life and legacy. Photos from the event show hundreds of fans gathered on the grounds of the Duck Commander warehouse in West Monroe, Louisiana.

The celebration of Phil’s life included a church service, food trucks, live music, a live Duck Call Room podcast recording, classic films of Phil Robertson, and much more. Numerous Robertson family members credited Phil’s granddaughter, Bella Mayo, with the event’s success.

“I am so proud! I have seen you work so hard to make all of this happen to honor your Papaw and it was more than we could have dreamed,” Korie Robertson wrote of Bella.

Bella Mayo’s sister, Sadie, called the event a “straight up revival.”

One of the highlights of the day was the baptism of roughly 100 guests. Kay Robertson, Phil’s wife of more than 60 years, shared photos and videos of their son Willie baptizing new believers during the celebration. She captioned the clips, saying:

“Being around my family these last few months has meant the world to me. They’re the hands and feet of Jesus. They’re Phil’s legacy. Phil would have loved seeing Willie baptize 100 new believers in the Duck Commander parking lot last weekend,” Kay said. “We’re all here together because he said ‘yes’ — yes to changing everything, yes to the Lord, yes to a new life in Christ.”

Phil Robertson was laid to rest in a private service a week after his death.

Phil Robertson passed away earlier this year after a brief battle with Alzheimer’s and a blood disorder.

A few days after his death, Phil Robertson was laid to rest in a private family ceremony. The Robertson family shared a video of Phil’s funeral service with fans. The service was filled with tears and laughter as each of his children took turns sharing stories with the 400 friends and family in attendance.

Phil’s daughter-in-law, Missy, and some of his grandchildren led the crowd in worship and sang Phil’s favorite hymns before his son, Jase, challenged the crowd to accept Christ, much like he did this past week during Duck Commander Sunday.

“He was ready to meet the Lord. How many humans can say that? How many people are ready?” Jase said in May. “I think I would do this crowd a disservice if I didn’t say, if you’re not ready to meet your Maker, if you’re not thrilled by the story of Jesus, where you want to live it and you want to talk about it … Use this moment. Use my dad. Use this to find your way to be thrilled by Jesus.”
