Dolly Parton To Appear In Hallmark Christmas Movie Set At Dollywood

Last winter, we were treated to the Hallmark Channel movie Christmas at Graceland, which starred Kellie Pickler and Wes Brown. It was filmed at Elvis Presley’s famous home Graceland, and did so well, they filmed a sequel!

This holiday season, we get to watch a Hallmark Christmas movie set at another iconic Tennessee landmark – Dollywood!

Christmas at Dollywood was just confirmed by Entertainment Tonight and Dolly Parton herself is heavily involved.

The movie will follow single mom Rachel Lewis, played by Danica McKellar who you may remember from her other work on Hallmark or as Winnie in The Wonder Years.

Rachel is an award-winning Broadway producer who learns investors for her holiday extravaganza have mismanaged their funds. forcing the show to close before it even opens. Rachel’s friend from Tennessee tells her there is an opportunity produce a show for the 20th anniversary of the Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival at Dollywood.

Rachel and her nine-year-old daughter Amy go down to Tennessee, where Rachel has to work with strong-willed entertainment director Luke Hakman. According to ET, Rachel figures out a show that she feels could be incredible, “though she will have to convince a skeptical Luke, who has his own vision of what will be successful. As the pair make compromises to please their boss, Rachel and Luke realize love can come in the most unexpected of places.”

Christmas at Dollywood will premiere sometime in December during the 10th anniversary of Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown to Christmas,” which will begin October 25 this year. Parton will make a very special appearance in the movie.
