Dolly Parton announced Sunday that she is postponing a number of her upcoming Las Vegas shows due to some health concerns.

Dolly, 79, was scheduled to perform at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace from December 4 to December 13. However, according to a statement posted on Sunday, those dates have been rescheduled to September 2026.

“I want the fans to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Dolly wrote.

The singer went on to share that she’s been having some “health challenges” and has been told by her doctors that she needs to have “a few procedures.” She joked that it was time for her “100,000 mile check-up, although it’s not my usual trip to see my plastic surgeon.”

Parton added that because of the necessary procedures, she won’t have the time to rehearse and prepare for the highly anticipated shows. “You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”

She made it clear that while she has to slow town for the time being, it’s only temporary.

“Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” Dolly wrote. “But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you.”

Dolly didn’t share details about her health issues, but 2025 has been a trying year for the star. In March, her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, died at the age of 82. In interviews following Carl’s death, Dolly shared that she was “okay” but would always miss him.

“I had no idea that so many people were in love with our love, with our love story,” Dolly told WVLT’s Kyle Grainger in an interview following the loss of Carl. “It is a heartbreaker, no doubt. I’ll always deal with waves coming in and out, but at least I’ve had my work. Carl would expect that. That’s all I’ve ever done.”

The news comes less than two weeks after Dolly Parton missed a planned appearance at Dollywood.

The “Jolene” singer was scheduled to appear at her Gatlinburg theme park, Dollywood, on September 17. She was slated to be on hand to unveil a new attraction, Night Flight Expedition. Instead of seeing Dolly in person, attendees were surprised with a video from the star.

“Hello Dollywood! It’s me,” she told fans in a pre-taped clip. “I know — and I’m here, and you’re there. And you’re wondering why that is? Well, I had a little problem.”

Parton added, “I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems, turned out it’d given me an infection, and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better.’ So, he suggested I not go to Dollywood today, but I’m there with you in spirit. I was looking so forward to it.”

Dolly’s latest news was met with an outpouring of support and well-wishes.

Following the announcement of the postponement of her Las Vegas shows, fans and fellow artists shared their love for the star and sent notes of well-wishes.

“Big adventures for you, for sure! Can’t wait to enjoy them with you! In the meantime, tend to yourself and feel better!” Jennifer Nettles wrote.

“We love you, sweet Dolly. You’re always taking care of the world — take some time to take care of you! We’ll be right here when you’re back at it!” one wrote. Another shared, “We can wait till you’re ready queen!”
