Kelly Clarkson’s Daughter Sang On The Track “You Don’t Make Me Cry” When She Was 5 Years Old
Kelly Clarkson’s two children, daughter River Rose and son Remy have each shown on separate occasions that they’ve inherited their superstar mother’s singing abilities.
Recently, 8-year-old Remy went viral after performing Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” on Clarkson’s daytime talk show. The performance happened when he and his big sister visited their mom on set.
The original snippet has already racked up over 1.5 million views on YouTube. Just last week, Clarkson shared the full performance after fans had been repeatedly requesting it.
“[He] walked right in today and said, ‘Who do I need to speak to to sing my song?’ I said, ‘Okay, sir!’” Clarkson said. “They’re so fun. I love my kids so much,” she added.

Another moment that has wowed fans is when Clarkson’s now 10-year-old daughter, River, joined her mom on a track from her latest album Chemistry.
In the song “You Don’t Make Me Cry,” River joins her mom to sing a few lyrics. Although Clarkson’s deluxe version of Chemistry was released in September 2024, River was only five years old when the song was recorded.
“We were in the studio when we were in Encino [California], and she came in. She was 5 years old on this track. That’s how old that song is,” Clarkson said during an appearance on TODAY. “I recorded it that long ago. And we just loved it, and it fit in with the record, and she came in to the studio and she said: ‘Can I sing?’ and so my producer just took my vocal off completely and just let her sing on the track. And the whole track is so cute.”
It seems that, in their eyes, Clarkson’s kids have even managed to steal the spotlight from their famous mom.
“She calls it her song, by the way. Even my son’s like: ‘Can you play River’s song?’ Like alright, slow down,” she laughed.
