Three Members Of The Beloved Southern Gospel Group The Nelons Died In A Plane Crash On July 26

Details have been announced for a Celebration of Life service honoring three members of the Southern gospel group The Nelons.

On Friday (July 26) Nelons members Kelly Nelon Clark, her husband Jason Clark, and their oldest daughter, Amber Nelon Kistler, were traveling to Seattle to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise. Sadly, their plane crashed at approximately 1:00 PM Mountain Time in a remote part of northeastern Wyoming.

All three of the Nelons were killed. The crash also claimed the lives of Amber’s husband, Nathan; The Nelons’ assistant, Melodi Hodges; the pilot, Larry Haynie; and his wife, Melissa.

Kelly and Jason’s youngest daughter (and Nelons member), Autumn Nelon Streetman, was not on the plane. She and her husband, Jamie, traveled separately to Seattle and learned about the crash when they arrived.

Thank you for the prayers that have been extended already to me, my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be-born baby boy, as well as Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark,” Autumn said in a statement posted by Gaither Music on Facebook.We appreciate your continued prayers, love and support as we navigate the coming days.”

As the sole surviving member of The Nelons, Autumn vowed to keep singing to honor her family and celebrate God’s goodness.

Details Revealed About The Nelons’ Celebration Of Life

In the days since the crash, friends, family members, and fans of the Nelons have paid tribute to them online. Christian and pop singer Amy Grant honored Kelly, Jason, and Amber in an emotional post on Instagram and shared her prayers for their family.

We’re praying for their loved ones who remain, and those who are making short term and long-term decisions around this devastating loss,” Grant said.

Now, the Nelons’ loved ones will honor them at an upcoming Celebration of Life service. Autumn Nelon Streetman shared details about the service on Facebook.

The Celebration of Life will honor Kelly, Jason, Amber, and Amber’s husband, Nathan. It will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, August 6, at the Roopville Road Baptist Church in Roopville, Georgia. Visitation with the family will be before the service, from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Autumn also shared that the service will be live-streamed. Those who cannot attend in person can watch the service from home.
