Derek Hough And His Wife, Hayley, Recently Welcomed Their First Child
On December 29, Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert welcomed their first child together.
The couple shared the happy news in a joint Instagram post that featured a black-and-white photo of their newborn’s tiny feet held in their hands.
“Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed,” the caption read.
Derek and Hayley kept their baby’s gender a secret until birth, though a small slip-up by Derek during a live Dancing with the Stars episode had fans guessing they were having a girl. Turns out, they were right.
Their announcement post revealed that their little bundle of joy is a sweet little girl named Everley Capri Hough.
Hayley later gave fans what could be considered the first peek at their newborn. While they haven’t revealed Everley’s face online, Hayley did share a photo that included her.
In it, Hayley’s wearing a delicate diamond necklace with the letters “D” and “E” for her husband and baby. Little Everley’s arm is reaching for the necklace. She seems to be wearing a soft, white fuzzy sweater.
Derek Hough Makes First Public Appearance As A Dad
Now that it’s been a couple of weeks since Derek and Hayley became first-time parents, they appear to be settling in very well. Derek even felt comfortable enough to attend his first public event as a dad.
On January 11, the Dancing with the Stars judge stepped out for the 2026 Golden Globes.
He walked the red carpet in a classic black tuxedo that fastened with straps on the side instead of buttons down the front. Instead of a regular tie, he wore a small jeweled button at the top of his collar.
Derek shared a photo carousel of his look that night, which showed him having some fun with his poses while being photographed by paparazzi.
“Out of the house for the first time since becoming a dad. Consider this my daddy debut,” he captioned the post.
A few of the photos show him giving a small smile to the camera while standing on the venue’s stairs. Other shots capture him going into a “jump pose” that he loves to do at every red carpet event he attends.
