Derek Hough And Wife, Hayley, Welcome Their First Child
On December 29, 2025, Dancing With The Stars pros Derek and Hayley Hough welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Everley Capri Hough. Along with an adorable black-and-white photo of the newborn’s feet held by her parents’ hands, Derek wrote:
“Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.”
The Houghs Give An Update On Baby Everley
In an exclusive video for People Magazine, the new parents give an update on the first two weeks with their newborn. Derek and Hayley comment on the remarkable pace at which babies grow and change. Derek observes:
“Already so many different changes happening. She’s changing every day, she’s gaining weight.”
Additionally, the video features the first-ever footage of baby Everley beyond the initial image shared in her birth announcement. Clips show the Houghs cradling their daughter in their arms while she is clothed in a butter-yellow outfit, complete with a bow atop her head. Hayley admits:
“I already find myself grieving this current stage, and I’m like, ‘Oh, I am gonna miss it so much.'”
Derek praises his wife for how she has gracefully stepped into the role of motherhood. He shares:
“She has been remarkable. Just powerful, and strong, and tender… Hayley was meant for this. She is such a good mom. She is such a natural mother.”

A Rainbow After A Storm
Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in California in 2023 and have faced unprecedented challenges during the first few years of their marriage. Prior to their wedding, the couple was involved in a serious car accident in 2022. Hayley received four stitches in her forehead as a result.
In October 2023, Hayley suffered a near-fatal brain bleed and was rushed off the stage mid-performance during their Symphony of Dance tour. The then 29-year-old required multiple surgeries, including a partial skull transplant, in the aftermath.
Later, the couple experienced a pregnancy loss in the fall of 2024. Now, they describe their daughter Everley as their “rainbow after the storm.” In the conversation with People, Derek reflected on the journey with his wife:
“She’s been through so much. To see her go from where she was to now, giving birth, is amazing. My daughter has a great example here.”
As they embark on a new chapter, Hayley says:
“Everything we’ve been through has created this foundation that is so strong. Derek describes it as like a tree — the roots are so deep into the ground that no wind could shake us.”
