And baby makes four for Dan + Shay lead singer Shay Mooney! Mooney and his wife Hannah welcomed their second son on Friday, February 21. Ames Alexander Mooney joins the couple’s first son, 3-year-old Asher James.
Ames was born in Nashville and weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. and measured 19.5 inches long, according to PEOPLE.
Mooney also shared the news on social media Saturday along with photos of their adorable new addition. “Ames Alexander, welcome to the Mooney family. Asher has been so excited to meet you, “baby brover,” Mooney captioned the series of pictures. “You are already so loved. I’m so proud to be your dad. And you have have the best momma on planet earth.”
Mooney added that his firstborn might be surprised to find out that Ames will be going home with them. “Yesterday, Asher asked Hannah when baby brother’s mom was gonna come pick him up and take him to his house…so we might be in for a slight rude awakening.”
The Mooney family announced Hannah’s pregnancy last summer with a photo of a diaper-clad Asher sitting behind a pink heart and a blue heart drawn on the sidewalk. Another photo shows Asher with his hand on the blue heart. An adorable video followed in which the proud big brother exclaimed, “I’m having a baby brother!”
Shay Mooney captioned the announcement, “Celebrating a number 1 with baby number 2! Hannah and I have been dying to share the news. We thought for sure we’d be announcing a baby girl, but God has other plans for the Mooneys. Found out today we’re having a BOY! Bout to be a new duo in town.”
