Season 24 of The Voice experienced notable changes when Reba McEntire stepped in for the seasoned coach Blake Shelton, who had been a part of the show for 23 consecutive seasons. Now, as Season 25 of the singing competition approaches, it gears up for its next set of adjustments.
Over the summer, The Voice unveiled the coaching roster for the upcoming season, presenting a distinctive blend of talents: Reba McEntire, John Legend, Chance the Rapper, and the duo Dan + Shay. This represents the first occasion of a musical duo taking on coaching roles, as both Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney make their debut as coaches on the show.

How Will The Double Chair Work?
At the beginning of each season, celebrity coaches face away from the stage as hopeful artists audition. This setup ensures that the judgment is based solely on vocal abilities. Interested coaches hit a button, turning their chairs to reveal the auditioner.
In 2024, there will be a slight modification to this process. Although Dan + Shay will each have their individual chairs, they will collectively share a button between them.
While the concept of a shared chair has been featured in international versions of the singing competition, this marks the first occurrence of such an arrangement in the U.S. edition of The Voice.
