Nicole Cortez Figg’s dad is earning major social media props for the epic surprise that he managed to pull off for her wedding. Cortez-Figg is a sign language interpreter and her dad wanted to give her a wedding day gift that she would never forget.
For an entire year leading up to her wedding, Nicole’s dad had been secretly meeting with her best friend at a coffee shop to learn the signs for “I Loved her First” by Heartland.
When it was time for him to show off what he had learned, nobody expected the emotions that his performance would bring. As Nicole’s dad took the stage, his friends and family cheered him on. But, he wasn’t distracted. He had one goal…to show his daughter how much he loved her.
The bride and groom and their room full of guests were almost immediately brought to tears as Mr. Cortez beautifully and flawlessly signed the familiar words.
