Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have recorded several songs together by now. They even have a Christmas duet titled “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.”
“You Make It Feel Like Christmas” was released in 2017. Its accompanying music video was released the following year.
One of the lyrics from “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” goes:
“Sweet gingerbread made with molasses. My heart skipped and I reacted…“
Feeling inspired by that lyric, Stefani decided to make her own gingerbread cookies at home. Shelton joined in on the fun by helping her mix up ingredients for the dough. He jokingly asked her several times throughout their cookie baking process if they were making their gingerbread with molasses.
Once the dough chilled for awhile, Stefani cut the cookies into shapes. Most of them were shaped like gingerbread men, but she also cut out a few snowflakes and some angels. They decorated some of the cookies, after they finished baking, but left others plain.
Even their dog, Betty, got in on the holiday fun! The end of the video shows Shelton asking Betty if she’d like to try a cookie. She made it clear that she would, so Shelton gave her one to enjoy.
Stefani captioned the clip, “sweet gingerbread !!…had such a fun baking wknd with @blakeshelton + the fam.” It sure does look like they had a fun time! Head below to check out the video.
