Christmas came a little early for two of country music’s hottest rising stars! In a move that fans saw coming, Carly Pearce and Michael Ray announced their engagement in duel social media posts on Saturday (December 22). In the posts, both reveal that Ray popped the question on Wednesday (December 19) in Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
“Michael, I would’ve married you the first night we hung out because I knew then you were the one,” Carly captioned the series of photos from the beautiful proposal. “You will always be my most precious example of God’s timing and His love for me. I have found my home in you & will love you with everything I have forever and a day.”
Michael shared the same photos and declared his love for Carly in a heartfelt note, saying, “Carly, you make it all make sense, every step of my life good and bad was leading me to you. You are the biggest blessing I have and will ever receive. You are my best friend, my partner in crime, my workout, grilled chicken, wine drinking classic country Opry loving, Nashville palace hanging, Publix grocery shopping, this is us watching, living room late night dancing, laugh until we cry soul mate.
I’m glad we have forever together my love cause it is gonna take every second of it for you to understand how much I truly adore, respect, honor and love you! You are gonna be MY WIFE ?!!!!!!!!! Thank you for choosing me honey I can’t wait to walk life with you.”
The two followed up their engagement announcement with plenty of adorable photos from their pre-holiday Mexico vacation.
The engagement comes just five months after the singers went public with their relationship. In mid-July, after weeks of flirting on social media, Michael and Carly shared a photo of them together at the Grand Ole Opry. “And then one random night at the Nashville Palace changed everything,” Pearce wrote.
When the “Every Little Thing” singer revealed that she would be joining Ray’s family for Christmas, fans anticipated a holiday engagement…and they were right! The news was met with a flood of well-wishes from fans of the couple as well as fellow country stars who took to social media to share their excitement.
