Meet Matt Stell, The Country Singer Who Just Got Married One Day After He Proposed
Country star Matt Stell recently surprised his fans with the news he got engaged…and then married the next day!
Stell was born in Arkansas on April 19, 1984. He started pursuing music in the 2000s and 2010s, releasing several independent albums during that time. His first major-label EP, Last of the Best, dropped in 2018.
Stell released his debut single, “Prayed for You,” the following year. He co-wrote the track with Ash Bowers and Allison Veltz.
In “Prayed for You,” Stell sings about praying for his future wife before they ever met. As the beginning of the chorus goes:
“‘Cause every single day, before I knew your name,
I couldn’t see your face, but I prayed for you.”
Fans fell in love with “Prayed for You,” and it became a #1 song on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. It also crossed over to claim the 36th spot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has since been certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA.

Matt has experienced continued success with his singles “Everywhere but On” (which also reached #1), “That’s Ain’t Me No More,” “Man Made,” and “Breakin’ In Boots.”
His latest album, Born Loneley, debuted in June 2024.
Matt Stell Announces Marriage To Kasey Harvey
It seems Matt finally found the woman he prayed for, because he just announced his engagement…and marriage!
Matt shared the happy news in an Instagram video he posted on January 6. He introduced fans to his new wife, Kasey Harvey, saying, “On Friday when we were in Mexico…we got engaged. Boom!”
Then he dropped the bombshell news, saying they got married the next day. “I am not joking. She married me on Saturday! How ‘bout them apples!”

Matt and Kasey have kept their relationship fairly low-key until now, and Kasey’s Instagram profile is set to private. But the couple was photographed together at the CMA Awards in November.
After announcing their marriage, Matt posted some videos from the proposal and next-day wedding, captioning them:
“We got engaged on Friday! And Married on Saturday!!!! Love you 4eva Kasey STELL.“

Bobby Bones Asks Matt Why He Tied The Knot So Soon
Naturally, fans were surprised to hear that Matt got engaged and then married the next day. He called into The Bobby Bones Show to explain why he and Kasey decided to tie the knot so soon.
“Probably about a week before that I got to think, and I was like, ‘You know, I’m ready to skip over all the, you know, ready set go, like the set part,'” Matt said, “I was ready to go from ready to go.”
After the proposal, Matt asked Kasey what she thought about getting married sooner rather than later.
“You know after I pop the question and got engaged, I asked her right there, I was like, ‘Hey, I don’t want to spring this on you…but I think fiancé is the dumbest word in all of English language. And I don’t wanna be one for very long. I’m ready to be your husband.'”
The couple decided to sleep on the idea of getting married right away. The next day, Kasey told Matt, “You know what, I’m ready, let’s do it.”
Matt said both of their parents were there, and so was his best friend, who officiated the ceremony on the beach in Mexico. They plan to throw a reception with a larger group of friends and family in the future.
