Upchurch Performs Rap Version Of “Take Me Home, Country Roads”

One man from the backroads of Cheatham County, Tennesee is coming forward with his talents. Country rap artist, Ryan Upchurch has made a name for himself in the industry. Combining two unlikely music genres together, the rapper has had incredible success. Originally bringing his talents to YouTube, Upchurch began to find his fame.

With tremendous success, both of Upchurch’s first released albums Cheatham County and Heart of America made the top 30 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Although Upchurch has a strong fan following, there are always people who love-to-hate his unique style of music. After being made fun of for his artistic choices, he made the decision to prove that he could do more than just rap. The performer released a video singing “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. His deep country roots came flowing out as he sang the famous folk tune.

The artist took to Instagram explaining that he wasn’t going to listen to anyone who didn’t care for his music anyways.

Since then, Upchurch has released the single “Dirty South” which gained national attention. This single followed by his eerie music video has reached 8,357,060 views. The rapper continues to break the barrier for traditional music genres. As his fan base grows over 3 million, we’re excited to see what he has in store next.
