Dolly Parton Postpones Vegas Performances Due To “Health Challenges” And Upcoming Surgeries
Some “health challenges” have forced Dolly Parton to pause her plans of performing in Las Vegas.
Earlier this year, Parton announced she would perform a limited series of shows at Vegas’ Colosseum in December. These shows were supposed to be her first Vegas concerts since she sang at The Mirage in the 1990s.
However, Parton has since postponed the start of her Vegas engagement. On Sunday (September 28), the legendary singer-songwriter released a statement saying that she’s been struggling with her health and needs to receive additional medical care.
“I want the fans and the public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors told me that I must have a few procedures,” Parton wrote.
She kept her message lighthearted and reassured fans that she has no intentions to retire.
“I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.“

The news comes not long after Parton backed out of an appearance at Dollywood to speak about the park’s upcoming attraction, NightFlight Expedition. She sent in a video explaining that she developed a kidney stone and subsequent infection, and her doctors advised her to get some rest.
Parton has also been grieving the loss of her beloved husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March. They had been married for just shy of 59 years.
