Congratulations are in order for “She Had Me At Heads Carolina Singer” Cole Swindell. He just announced his engagement to his girlfriend Courtney Little!
According to PEOPLE, Swindell popped the question at the same place where he and Little went on their first date…a farm outside of Nashville. It’s where they filmed his “Some Habits” music video, which Little starred in.
“She recognized the location,” Swindell told PEOPLE. “She probably knew what was going on then. I took her hand and walked for what felt like a long time. It probably wasn’t but a minute or so.”
He continued, “At that point, I couldn’t wait any longer. I found a little spot right there off the side of the gravel drive in the field and hit a knee.”
Swindell proposed with an oval-shaped diamond ring, which he designed with the help Simon Tekin of Ballantyne Jewelers. The jeweler is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, which is close to Swindell’s hometown.
“I put the ring on her finger, and we’ve been all smiles ever since,” he said.
Swindell’s friend, photographer Cody Arrington, was hiding in the nearby field snapping photos of the proposal.
“It’s hard to put into words how happy I am,” Swindell, said. “I feel like I’m very fortunate to be where I am in my career, but I feel like I’ve missed out on a lot of real-life moments. I’m just glad to have somebody to share everything with. She makes me better, and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in all parts of my life.”
Swindell shared his engagement news on social media on Monday (May 8). He said, “Still couldn’t tell ya everything I said down on one knee.. All I know is she said ‘YES’! We’re so excited!”
