Chris Daughtry Issues Statement Following “Unexpected Death” Of 25-Year-Old Daughter

American Idol season 5 alum Chris Daughtry is mourning the tragic death of his 25-year-old daughter, Hannah. PEOPLE reported Friday (November 12) that Hannah was found deceased in her Nashville home, but no other details have been released.

Hannah, was one of two children born to Chris Daughtry’s wife, Deanna, during a previous relationship. According to a post made by Chris in 2016 to celebrate Hannah’s birthday, Chris reflected on coming into Hannah’s life when she was only 4-years-old. “Hannah, I love you with all my heart and I’m so proud to call you my daughter. We’ve come along way kid! Happy birthday,” Chris wrote.

On Saturday, following the news of Hannah’s death, Daughtry canceled many of his upcoming concerts and took to social media to express his heartache and grief and thank fans for their condolences.

“I am still processing the last 24 hours. I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken,” Chris captioned a photo of Hannah. “Thank you all for your kind words and condolences. They are truly felt and appreciated. I will be taking a break from social media to be present with my family as we attempt to heal from this devastating loss. Hannah. I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply???”

Hannah’s mother, Deanna, also took to social media to honor her daughter and shared that they are awaiting autopsy results to determine Hannah’s cause of death.

“My first born. I love you endlessly Hannah,” Deanna wrote. “Our family would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love as we grieve the loss of our daughter Hannah. We are awaiting the autopsy results to determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death. Our hearts are broken.”
