On their hit HGTV show Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna Gaines work together to transform less than desirable houses into someone’s dream home. The couple also welcome viewers into their own home from time to time, and give them a glimpse of their family life.
Every now and then, the couple’s four children also tag along with them at work. Sons Drake and Duke have gone on a road trip with their dad to pick up a custom end table, and daughters Ella and Emmie tag along with their mom to antique stores.
The couple will soon have another little one running around, because they’re expecting their fifth child! Chip announced the news in January, saying, “Gaines party of 7.. (If you’re still confused.. WE ARE PREGNANT.”

Ever since that announcement, fans have been curious to know if Chip and Joanna are expecting a boy or a girl. Since the couple has named their sons with “D” names and their daughters with “E” names, people have been searching everywhere to see if they’ve been hinting at those letters in any way.
One popular fan theory was that the couple was having a girl after Joanna announced the spring collection from her Magnolia Home line would be called the Evie Collection. But that was just a theory, and neither Chip or Joanna ever confirmed it.
The couple put an end to the theories when they finally announced the gender of baby number five on Tuesday (March 6). You’re sure to love their announcement, because the way they went about it was perfect.
Recently, Chip and Joanna attended Tim Tebow’s annual celebrity gala and golf tournament to help raise money for various organizations. While there, the couple met a sweet little boy named Gage, and Chip wanted him to help reveal the gender of baby Gaines.

Chip tweeted a link to a video of him talking to Gage, asking if he could help him think of a name. “I can’t think of a ‘D’ name,” Chip said. He later went on to add, “It’s a little boy, and I need a ‘D’ name.”
So it’s official, baby Gaines is a boy! We can’t wait to hear which name Chip and Joanna end up choosing for their new bundle of joy!
