A young mother’s TikTok video is going viral after she spotted a mouse hiding in her well-decorated Christmas tree and decided to film it.
Holding a broomstick and moving towards the tree, she slowly uses the broom to pull back some tree branches to reveal that the house mouse was indeed perched up on one of the branches looking directly at her with its beady little eye.
The mother, Gina, captioned the TikTok video, “Thought I was seeing things.”

The video cut off but things got cranked up to a whole new level of excitement when she posted a second video showing the moment she tried to get it out of the tree and her cats jumped in to deal with the intruder.
The mouse had climbed down from the top of the branches and made its way into an upside-down basket that the tree was sitting on top of. When Gina lifted the basket and started to poke her broomstick underneath it, the mouse dashed out and went to hide beside the couch next to the wall.
The only problem was, Gina’s black cat was hot on its tail and got into a fierce battle with it and managed to grab it and pull it out from behind the couch. That’s when the other cat jumped in and tried to get involved but ended up blocking the first cat from getting a grip on the little mouse.
The mouse ran underneath the couch and appeared to get away while the cats began to search for it again. The video ended there but Gina wrote on the video that the mouse was not harmed and was safely escorted outside.
“No mouse was harmed in the making of this video, he’s safely outside now with my Christmas tree,” Gina wrote on TikTok.
Others commented on the post giving their thoughts on the whole ordeal.
“One of my biggest fears,” one person said.
“I would have destroyed the whole tree in a panic 😳😂,” another user commented.
“I simply would have set the whole tree on fire,” another wrote.
“I would have died on the spot,” one person replied.
