Justin Durrett, Assistant Police Chief of Checotah, Oklahoma, and childhood friend of Carrie Underwood has died at age 35.

On February 11, Durrett was involved in an accident in which he lost control of the truck he was driving causing the vehicle to  leave the road. The accident report states that Durrett was then ejected as the vehicle rolled over and he became trapped underneat. According to a GoFundMe page set up for the officer and his family, he suffered a broken neck, a bruised spine, and multiple cuts on his head. Within the last two weeks

The GoFundMe account was set up to help his family pay for medical bills, and received a huge boost when country superstar and fellow Checotah native Carrie Underwood donated $10,000.

Justin Durrett is survived by his wife and two young children. If you would like to show your support for the Durrett family, contributions can be made to their GoFundMe account by clicking here.
