On Sunday night (April 2), Carrie Underwood is up for her fifth consecutive Video of the Year Award at the 2023 CMT Music Awards. If she takes home that trophy, it will be her 10th time winning this category. She is already the winningest artist in CMT Awards history, and is looking to add a few more to that number tonight.
She is nominated for Video of the Year for “Hate My Heart,” as well as Female Video of the Year for “Ghost Story.”

She performed “Ghost Story” at last year’s awards show, so it only makes sense that she perform “Hate My Heart,” her other nominated song, at this year’s ceremony – held at Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
If you remember, she was the very first artist announced as a performer way back in November when Kelsea Ballerini showed up to her Austin concert to deliver the news!
At the CMT Music Awards held in Austin, Texas, she rocked the outdoor stage with a clear view of Texas’ state capitol building while wearing a black jacket and shorts with red hearts. She sang her current single “Hate My Heart,” which was also up for Female Video of the Year, but she lost that category to Lainey Wilson. She is still up for Vide of the Year, though!
The performance ended with an EPIC fireworks display! Watch it below!
