Naturally, fans want to know Underwood’s fitness secrets. They’re especially curious to know how she stays in shape while on tour. After all, tour life is extremely busy. Additionally, Underwood can’t access her home gym when she’s out on the road or performing for her Vegas residency.

But Underwood has figured out how to maintain her workout regime on tour. She shared her secrets during an interview with PEOPLE.

How Does Carrie Underwood Stay In Shape When She’s On Tour?

For starters, Underwood feels like it’s actually EASIER for her to stay in shape on the road. As she explained:

When I’m at home, I feel like I’m mom-ing it. I’m doing the laundry, packing the lunches, I’m always cleaning,” she said. Underwood shares two sons with her husband, Mike Fisher.

She continued:

“So when I’m on the road and I live on a bus or in a hotel room, I’m not having to do all that stuff so it frees up a little time. My schedule is still very regimented and there’s all this stuff that I do, but my mornings are a little bit more flexible.”

When it comes to exercising on tour, Underwood has a “make it happen however it can happen” frame of mind. She heavily relies on fit52 when she doesn’t have a lot of space, time, or equipment:

“You have to work around a lot,” she said. “We have an app called fit52 that I’m glad to have in my pocket on my phone. So somebody can kind of tell me what to do with minimal equipment because it depends on what hotel we’re in, or what we have to work with. We just make it happen when it can happen and how it can happen.”

Clearly it works for Underwood, because she’s in awesome shape. You can watch one of her bodyweight workouts in the video below. There’s no equipment needed, and it’s only five minutes long!
