Carrie Underwood Speaks About Limiting Her Sons’ Screen Time – “It’s Such A Battle“
Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher share two sons, Isaiah (age eight) and Jacob (age four). Carrie and Mike strive to keep their sons out of the spotlight, and rarely share photos of them on social media.
When they do post pictures of their sons, Carrie and Mike will often hide their faces or only show them from the back or side.
As her kids are growing older, Carrie is facing a “struggle” many parents are all-too-familiar with…how to limit screen time. She opened up about that struggle during a recent appearance on TODAY.
Carrie Says Her Kids Have “An Attitude Shift” If They Watch Too Much TV
When speaking about the struggles she faces when it comes to limiting screen time for her kids, Carrie said, “I mean, it’s such a battle, right?!”
She went on to explain how even television seems to have an impact on her sons’ attitudes:
“Like, I notice if they kind of watch too much TV, they have an attitude shift. And I’m like, ‘Why are you moody? What are we doing? Oh,'” Carrie relayed. “And then sometimes, they’ve learned a lot [of good things] from different television programs and movies and stuff like that.”
She added “it’s a struggle” to find a good balance regarding that issue.
Carrie Doesn’t Plan To Get Her Sons A Cell Phone Any Time Soon
Adding on, Carrie said she wants to avoid getting her sons cell phones for “as long as possible.” It’s a mission many other parents at their school have gotten behind too.
“There’s been a whole grassroots initiative within their school, and a bunch of parents getting together and discussing how we can keep our kids kind of away from technology, especially social media and stuff like that, as long as possible,” she said.
