Carrie Underwood gave churchgoers a moment to remember when she surprised everyone by showing up to sing during her church’s Christmas program.
Over the weekend, Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee, hosted its annual Sounds of Christmas concert. What attendees didn’t expect, though, was for country superstar Carrie Underwood to show up to sing a few holiday classics.
With the church’s band backing her up, Underwood sang “O Holy Night” and “All Is Well” for everyone there.
When it comes to Christmas music, it’s safe to say Underwood knows her stuff. She released her first holiday album, My Gift, in 2020, which features eight classic carols and three original songs.
There’s even a special little addition to one of the tracks. On the recording of “Little Drummer Boy,” Underwood brought her son, Isaiah, to sing with her.
Additionally, over the years, she has participated in numerous Christmas specials, performing holiday tracks such as “Mary, Did You Know?,” “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”
This isn’t the first time Underwood has performed at her church without any advance notice, either.
When Underwood isn’t on the road for shows or sitting on the judges’ panel for American Idol, she’s typically spending time back home in Tennessee and attends church whenever she can. And every now and then, she surprises the congregation with an unannounced performance.
Earlier this year, she stepped in to sing “Pour Your Spirit Out” during a service. She also wowed churchgoers in August 2024 when she helped lead worship by singing “Goodness of God.”
Underwood showed up to perform at her church’s Christmas program last year, too.

This year, audience members at the church captured videos of Underwood wearing a long, dark colored dress with sparkles and a tulle skirt. She looked elegant as she sang “All Is Well” and then “O Holy Night.”
Fans ran to the comments section of the videos to praise Underwood for her powerful performance.
“she never disappoints,” one fans wrote.
“She’s always fantastic,” said another.
“The best to ever do it!!!!!” someone else exclaimed.
