Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, recently took time for a Montana getaway and shared photos of their fishing adventure.

Carrie Underwood is arguably one of the busiest country music stars in the business. Between her concert schedule, special appearances, a new gig on American Idol, and being a mom to her two boys, Underwood doesn’t have much downtime. But she and her hubby, Mike Fisher, recently had a chance for some R&R in Montana.

In a post shared to social media, Carrie documented what she called the “BEST day” flyfishing alongside her hubby of 14 years in Montana, reportedly at the Resort at Paws Up, 35 minutes northeast of Missoula.

Photos show Carrie proudly displaying her successful catches with beautiful Big Sky Country scenery behind her.

Carrie Underwood & family also enjoyed a mountain getaway in 2021.

This isn’t the first time the Fishers have vacationed in the beautiful northwest. In 2021, Carrie, Mike, and their sons, Isaiah and Jacob, were guests at the Wind River Ranch in Colorado.

Photos shared by the American Idol champ showed her and Fisher horseback riding, Isaiah trying out his archery skills, and Jacob enjoying baby animals.

“What a wonderful week we had @windriverranch! We rested, made memories and spent time with other families praising God and all that He has made! It was a week we won’t ever forget!” Carrie captioned the photos.

Carrie Underwood’s Montana vacay comes just weeks before she takes a seat behind the judges’ table on American Idol.

American Idol’s return to television in 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of Carrie Underwood’s Idol win. The “Jesus, Take The Wheel” singer will replace longtime judge Katy Perry, who left the show to focus on her own music career.

Carrie’s return to the show that made her a star is an obvious choice that has people asking, “What took them so long?” One of those people is the very first Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, who said over a decade ago that Underwood would be an amazing judge.

Now that it’s official, Clarkson is throwing her support behind her fellow Idol alum, saying, “I think that’s brilliant. Like, what better person to have—somebody that’s won that show to come back.”

She added that having someone like Carrie on board is “invaluable.”

“To have somebody to look at and go, ‘OK, they’ve done it, and they’re sitting right there. So, that means I am capable of doing it. I can dream that big.'”

Tune into the 23rd season of American Idol, scheduled to premiere in the Spring of 2025, to see Carrie Underwood in action.
