Carrie Underwood revealed that she and her husband, retired hockey star Mike Fisher, are expecting their second baby. Underwood broke the news on Instagram Wednesday morning along with the news that she’ll be kicking off a new tour in May 2019.

“You might be wondering or asking, ‘Carrie, why is your tour starting in May?’ Well … yay!” the 25-year old said as she revealed balloons that spelled out B-A-B-Y. “Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another fish to our pond.”

The baby news came as somewhat of a surprise as it came just days after she made comments regarding having children after the age of 35.

“I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family,” the singer said during an interview with Redbook.”We always talk about adoption and doing it when our child or children are a little older.”

The comments served as the perfect guise for Underwood to share her exciting baby news on her own terms.

A new baby isn’t the only thing Carrie has in the works, although it is the most exciting! She is gearing up to release her highly-anticipated new album, Cry Pretty, on September 14th. Underwood is also scheduled to host the CMA Awards alongside Brad Paisley for the 11th time in November. But, she’s not making us wait until then to see her new baby bump.

Prior to her appearance on the Grand Ole Opry Friday night, Underwood shared a photo of herself backstage in which her adorable tiny belly is on full display.
