Carrie Underwood And Jimmy Fallon Rock Central Park With Impromptu ‘Islands In The Stream’ Duet

The Tonight Show/YouTube

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind for Carrie Underwood as she celebrates and promotes the release of her new album, Cry Pretty. As part of her press tour, Underwood stopped by The Tonight Show where she talked about the new album and debuted her latest single, “Love Wins.”

But, no Tonight Show appearance is complete without a duet with Jimmy. In the past, Fallon has famously performed with some of music’s biggest stars including Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Barbra Streisand and more. If you watched Carrie Underwood’s recent appearance on The Tonight Show, you didn’t see her duet with Fallon. But, you’ll be happy to know that the two did team up for an impromptu performance that took place after the show was filmed in New York City’s Central Park.

In an unedited clip posted to The Tonight Show‘s YouTube channel on Sunday (September 23), Carrie and Jimmy sing the well-known Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton duet “Islands in the Stream.” The performance goes smoothly until Carrie asks the band for a key change and her range is tested. But, like the pro that she is, Carrie dominates the low notes and impresses Fallon and the audience.
