Carly Pearce and her boyfriend of two years, Riley King, have called it quits.
Riley King confirmed the news to Page Six Wednesday (June 7), saying, “Yes, things didn’t work out. Carly and I have parted ways and I wish her nothing but the best in both her career and personal life.”
The outlet reports that the couple split due to Pearce’s “trust issues” following her 2020 divorce from Michael Ray.
“She has lot of trust issues,” an insider reportedly told Page Six. “She went through that divorce with Michael Ray, and parts of that she’s still coping with and struggling with.”
The “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” singer hasn’t commented or posted publicly about the breakup, but both parties have removed all photos of each other from their respective social media accounts.
King, a Missoula, Montana, native, currently lives in Nashville and works as a real estate agent. According to his bio, Riley is a former college basketball player and professional baseball player.
Carly, 33, married fellow country singer Michael Ray in October 2019. Pearce filed for divorce eight months later.
Carly Pearce spoke to PEOPLE following her split from Ray, saying that the couple “very quickly realized we were not meant to be.” She also added that she stands by her decision to marry Ray and that her “love was real.”
“I did everything that I knew how to do,” she said. “It takes two people to work on something.” She hasn’t shared details about her split from Ray, but told the outlet, “When you love somebody, you trust them.”
