Bunnie Xo Is Standing Up For Her Role As A Mom
Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, recently fired back at critics who claim she’s not a “real mom” to her stepdaughter, Bailee. Although Bailee is Jelly’s daughter from a previous relationship, Bunnie has helped raise her for years and considers herself a mother figure in her life.
When one commenter told Bunnie, “She’s your stepdaughter. Remember that.”
“You’re right — I’m NOT her mom & would never want to be. Her mom isn’t a mom,” Bunnie replied.
She explained that while she may not be Bailee’s biological mother, she’s the one who’s always been there, helping Bailee heal through very hard things in life.
“I fiercely protect this little girl, I teach her how to be a woman, I have always picked up the pieces of her broken heart alongside her dad, every time her real mom shatters her heart,” she continued.
Bunnie also pointed out that Bailee calls her “mom” by choice, and that label means more to her than any blood tie.

Jelly Roll Granted Full Custody Of Bailee
Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo were granted full custody of Bailee in 2017 following complications related to her biological mother, Felicia’s, struggle with addiction.
Jelly has shared that Bailee also helped him overcome his own struggles, saying that an all time low for him was finding out about her birth in 2008 while incarcerated.
“My daughter saved my life and she doesn’t even know it,” Jelly said in his 2023 documentary, Jelly Roll: Save Me. “On more than one occasion, my daughter was a divine intervention in my life.”
Jelly shared that having Bailey was a monumental moment for him, and having her was what he needed to turn his life around.
“I think it was the first time in my whole life that I thought about putting somebody in front of me. In that moment, I made a promise with her that I had to be there for her. It’s almost like something clicked right then.”
Jelly has credited Bunnie for helping him form a stronger bond with Bailee. He often gushes about her qualities as a wife and stepmother.
“It takes a special kind of woman to raise a kid that isn’t her child and still treat the child as if she was . Bunnie is that special woman…Bunnie is a beautiful soul…Over the years watching her relationship with Bailee blossom into this beautiful mother daughter bond that it has become has been nothing short of magical. I have truly been blessed with the best partner I could’ve asked for in life . You are the epitome of a good mom and deserve more credit than anyone because you didn’t have to step up to the plate the way you did. You chose to step up and man you have knocked it out of the park ,” Jelly wrote in a post on Facebook.
