Few things go together better than Brett Eldredge and Christmas. The suave country singer has two successful Christmas albums – Glow (2016) and Mr. Christmas (2021) – and each December, he travels the country spreading Christmas cheer with the Glow Tour.
In a recent conversation with People, Brett says that his Mr. Christmas alter ego is a “huge part” of who he is. The singer dons his signature velvet tuxedos each night and treats audiences to classic holiday tunes that he says he has dreamt of performing since he was a kid; songs that he says helped him “find his voice.”
Brett, whose vocal style is reminiscent of crooners Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, says that connecting with his fans during the intimate holiday shows “gives him purpose.” He reflected:
“There’s a certain magic to these shows that I want to keep in there. A Glow show just makes you feel so connected. It feels like everybody’s on the same page in a world that sometimes feels not on the same page at all. When you get everybody together, and you have this music and this spirit in the room, it’s just so powerful. And that gives me purpose. I need this. The memories we’re creating are yours and mine and all of ours together.”
“I just feel so lucky, in this world today, to keep that tradition going and make it my own.”
Brett Eldredge’s Glow Tour kicked off at the historic Ryman Auditorium.
Brett Eldredge kicked off his 2023 Glow Tour over Thanksgiving weekend with three shows at the famous Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. After playing the venue that has been sacred to country music artists for generations, Brett shared his admiration on social media saying:
“In that room, on that stage looking out into the audience so connected, I felt love and I felt hope, two of the most powerful things a soul can feel.”
Brett Eldredge took a “sabbatical” year for most of 2023.
After touring for more than a decade, Brett took most of the past year off to refresh, recharge, and work on personal growth.
“I’ve been on the road for 11, 12 years, and I started feeling like there’s so much more that’s important to me, as well as my music. I’ve really wanted to grow a lot of aspects of my life, and I think it’s important to take the time.”
Brett shares that this time away from the road has allowed him to feel rooted again and get more in tune with his true self, adding:
“I’m a creative spirit, and I’m very sensitive, and I’m starting to love that part of myself. I’m starting to learn that what makes me thrive is getting out in front of people, but it also makes me scared as hell. But that’s what I love to do, and I’m just learning that dance, and I feel good about that.”
