Brenda Lee released “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” in 1958. The song has been a Christmas staple ever since, known around the world as a wholesome and fun holiday tune.

But while Brad Paisley‘s son Jasper was listening to “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” in 2020, he noticed how some of the lyrics could be misheard. Paisley shared his son’s discovery in a video on TikTok.

“You can’t unhear this,” Brad captioned the clip. “Merry 2020 Christmas. Brenda Lee you ornery little minx. Recorded in 1958 with 2020 vision. Credit to 11 year old Jasper Paisley for noticing the explicit lyrics.”

For reference, here’s how the lyrics are supposed to go:

“Rockin’ around the Christmas tree

Let the Christmas spirit ring

Later we’ll have some pumpkin pie

And we’ll do some caroling”

Now, check out Paisley’s video below to see how he (and Jasper) heard the song instead. Here’s a hint…they heard the word “pumpkin” as something WAY different!

Fair warning, after you watch this, you’ll never be able to hear “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” without laughing. You’ll have Paisley to thank for that.
