The couple, who met as coaches on the NBC series The Voice in 2014, began their relationship in 2015 after supporting each other through their respective divorces. They got engaged in 2020 and tied the knot at Blake’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, in 2021.

Since getting together, Blake and Gwen have also collaborated on several musical projects, including songs like “Happy Anywhere,” “Nobody But You,” and “Purple Irises”

In May, the dynamic duo took the stage at the 2024 ACM Awards to perform a lively rendition of their duet “Purple Irises.” The song, released in February, was first performed live at the Super Bowl LVIII TikTok Tailgate event.

In a cover story interview with NYLON in April, Gwen opened up about overcoming her own self-doubt while writing “Purple Irises.”

On the day she wrote the song, Gwen was dealing with “insecurities” about her marriage and feeling jittery about stepping back into the studio.

“I had been going through those times where you’re questioning: ‘Oh my gosh, am I just getting older? Am I cute?’ In my own relationship, even though I know the truth of what’s happening today, you still create drama in your own mind about your insecurities and what might happen. I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and getting paranoid.”

Blake Shelton chimed in, saying, “It’s an insecurity we both have. These are conversations that she and I have with each other: ‘Are you still going to love me when I’m old or if I forget who I am?'”

Gwen wrapped it up perfectly: “The truth is I am in love with my best friend, and all this sh*t I’m thinking of in my brain, that’s all it is — I’m overthinking.”

Cheers to many more years of love and happiness for these two!
