Bindi Irwin Shares Sweet Words About Mom Terri On Her Birthday

Terri Irwin celebrated her 57th birthday on Tuesday (July 20). The widow of Steve Irwin spent her special day with their two kids, Bindi and Robert.

Bindi’s husband, Chandler Powell, was also involved in Terri’s birthday celebration. And so was Bindi and Chandler’s baby girl, Grace!

It only seemed fitting that the Irwins celebrated Terri’s birthday with some animals as well. As Bindi shared in a post on social media, they all got together to release five sea turtles back into the wild.

The sea turtles had been under their care at their Wildlife Hospital. After receiving the TLC they needed, the turtles were ready to go back to their home in the ocean.

Bindi felt like it was the perfect way to celebrate her mom’s birthday. In her sweet message, she wrote:

“Celebrating Mama’s birthday by releasing 5 turtles back to the wild, after they were in care at our Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. This day will live in my heart forever, with the most incredible Mama turned Bunny (our term for grandmother). I love you beyond description, Mum.”

Bindi also shared a photo of her posing next to their boat, the Croc One, with baby Grace in her arms.

“Grace had so much fun, too!” Bindi captioned the adorable snapshot along with a heart and turtle emoji.

Bindi’s younger brother Robert also put up a touching post in honor of Terri’s birthday. He opted to share a throwback photo of him and his “mum” out on an adventure when he was a small child.

“Happy birthday Mum,” he wrote. “Love you so much!”

The Australia Zoo recognized Terri’s birthday by sharing a video containing footage of her throughout the years. You can watch that tribute below.
