Billy Gilman’s Beloved Mother, Frances, Has Died
Frances G. Gilman, the mother of singer Billy Gilman, passed away on March 8. She was 67 years old.
Billy’s longtime manager, Angela Bacari, said that Frances died early in the morning on March 8. Angela said Frances’ death was “sudden and unexpected.”
“I lost the warmest, most loving, giving, and best friend anyone could ever ask for in 30 years: Fran Gilman, my precious Billy Gilman’s mom,” Angela wrote.
She said the sadness Frances’ loved ones feel right now “is beyond words.”

Billy, who rose to fame as a child with country hits “One Voice” and “Oklahoma” and later became the runner-up on Season 11 of The Voice, shared a touching tribute to his mom on social media.
“My mom loved animals. Almost as much as she loved us,” Gilman wrote alongside a series of photos and a short video.
The first image shows his mother interacting with a beluga whale. The second image and the short clip show Billy and his family enjoying a day together in memory of his mother.
“We honored you by having a day celebrating you,” he wrote. “We love you, Mom. While my heart is full it is and will be forever broken. Love you forever, my other half.“

Frances Gilman Is Being Remembered As An Animal Lover And Devoted Mother
Frances’ obituary highlights her “warmth, humor, and boundless generosity.” She was also known for “her infectious laugh, quick wit, and natural grace.”
The obituary notes that the “greatest gift” Frances gave to the world was “her unwavering devotion.” She had a welcoming spirit and a generous heart.
Frances and her husband, William Gilman Jr., shared two sons, Billy and Colin. She was an incredibly devoted mother, and later, a grandmother, as she had two grandsons, Caden and Bowen.
As Billy mentioned, his mother also adored animals. Her dogs were some of “her most beloved companions.” Additionally, Frances was a member of the Quarter Horse Association. She showed horses for 25 years and won over 79 awards during that time.
Frances’ funeral service will be held on March 20 at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home in Rhode Island. Those who wish to honor her may make a donation to the Hope Valley Ambulance Corp or the Hope Valley Fire Department in her memory.
