Bill Anderson is about to take on a brand new role in his life!

Recently, country music legend Bill Anderson shared the exciting news that he is about to become a great-grandpa. He announced the life update in a monthly newsletter on his official website.

“I don’t think I have ever started off a newsletter with news from my personal life as opposed to news from my music career, but I’ve got a couple of things this time that I feel I should let you know right off the top,” he began.

He went on to say that his granddaughter Caroline and her husband Jacob are expecting their first child in February.

“Caroline is doing well health-wise…and Whisperin’ Bill is over the moon!! I’ll keep you posted as their journey continues, but I just had to “shout” it out first thing this month,” Anderson added.

Bill Anderson Thanks Fans For Their Support After Hurting Himself In A “Freak Accident”

Last month, Bill Anderson was scheduled to perform at the Grand Ole Opry on a Saturday night. Before taking the stage, the 87-year-old had to cancel his show, and audience members did not immediately know the reason, which worried many fans.

The following Monday, Anderson released a statement explaining why he missed his appearance at the Opry. He said he had been hurt in what he called a “freak accident,” tearing a ligament in his leg.

He reassured fans that he was okay but admitted he was in “excruciating pain” and would need to cancel multiple upcoming commitments.

In his September newsletter, he confirmed once again that he was doing well. He also thanked everyone who had sent their support while he was recovering.

“Thank you so much for all your calls, texts, e-mail messages, and prayers when I had to miss my scheduled spot on the Grand Ole Opry last month,” he wrote.

He continued, “I messed up the ligaments or muscles or something in the back of my left knee, and I was in a lot of pain and barely able to walk for a few days. Somehow it made the national news, and many of you reached out to me which I really appreciated. I’m doing fine now, though, and I promise to try and maneuver more carefully from now on.”

Anderson is already back to performing as well. He made his return to the Opry on September 6, and has another show scheduled for September 27.
