Hold on to your hats, folks, because the news is in – Jennifer Lopez is a huge fan of Yellowstone! And not just any aspect of the show, mind you, but the romance between the characters played by Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly.
Ben Affleck spilled the beans during an episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, revealing that his wife is completely hooked on the steamy relationship between Rip and Beth.
“Part of me thinks that she’s really drawn to the romance between Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly,” Affleck said of Lopez on The Bill Simmons Podcast.
Affleck shared that J-Lo even showed him a clip from the show, featuring a monologue by Reilly’s character in a car with a child about ways to become rich.
According to Affleck, Lopez was smitten with the couple and said, “I love this story of these two.” But wait, with Cole Hauser? Affleck joked that he was “kind of disturbed” by his wife’s fondness for Yellowstone.
“I’m kind of disturbed by the fact that my wife really likes Yellowstone,” Affleck joked.
But wait, there’s more! Matt Damon, Affleck’s longtime friend and co-star in many films, chimed in, saying that he was always “mystified” why Hauser wasn’t a big movie star. He even praised Hauser’s acting skills, describing him as “raw talent,“ and “just the sweetest soul.”
“He is very convincing as that guy,” Affleck said of of Hauser’s Yellowstone character, Rip Wheeler. “I think America believes he is Rip.”
And let’s not forget the show’s popularity. Yellowstone has a massive audience base, with more than 12 million people tuning in for the first two episodes of season 5 – a record for the show.
The show has even inspired two prequel spinoff series: 1883 and 1923. It’s no wonder Paramount announced that season 5 will be the lengthiest yet, at 14 episodes.
But back to J-Lo’s obsession with Rip and Beth. Could it be that she’s living vicariously through their fiery romance?
All we know is that we can’t wait to see how Rip and Beth’s relationship unfolds in the upcoming episodes.
With Lopez cheering them on from the sidelines, we’re sure it’s going to be a wild ride. So grab your popcorn and saddle up, folks – it’s going to be a bumpy, but oh-so-romantic, ride.
