Earlier this year, the Robertson family returned to television for the first time in eight years. They made their long-awaited comeback with the brand-new spinoff, Duck Dynasty: The Revival.
It seems the love for the family never went away. Fans tuned in each week, and before the first season had even finished airing, it was already renewed.
Now, the Robertson family is in the middle of filming season 2. However, many viewers are wondering if this time the show will address the passing of the family’s late patriarch, Phil Robertson.
Phil passed away in May of this year at the age of 79, following a battle with Alzheimer’s and a blood disorder.

Although he was still alive during the filming of season 1, he didn’t appear in any of the episodes. His passing also wasn’t mentioned since the first season was filmed prior.
Will Season 2 Of Duck Dynasty: The Revival Address Phil Robertson’s Passing?
In a recent interview with Taste of Country, Bella Robertson shared whether fans can expect to see Phil one last time in the upcoming season.
“You’ll see our grandpa pass and how we deal with that,” she said. “You’ll see birthdays and so much life happening. It’s up and downs and all the things — real life stuff. How we as a family cope.”
She also mentioned that although the footage existed before season 1 aired, it didn’t make the final cut.
“There was more of us kind of dealing and coping with that [Phil’s death], and I’m thinking that will come more in the second season,” Bella added. “That was a hard season of life and kind of happening at the same time.”
Phil’s health struggles weren’t a secret to the family. Bella shared that they had known about his condition for more than a year, but said his death was still incredibly hard.
Like many of her family members, Bella has stepped up to help fill the void Phil left behind. She now oversees the family museum, which is filled with her grandfather’s memorabilia.
“Working up at Duck Commander has been such a blessing during this time,” she said. “I’m surrounded by his pictures all the time. Some days that’s harder than other days, but some days it’s so special just to see his legacy.”
As of right now, there is no confirmed premiere date for season 2 of Duck Dynasty: The Revival.
