While almost the entire world was in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, work continued at the Irwin family’s Australia Zoo. Terri, Bindi, and Robert Irwin, along with Bindi’s husband, Chandler, teamed up to help care for the zoo’s 1,200 animals.
The zoo was temporarily closed to the public, so the Irwins, Chandler, and other zoo staff were the only people on the grounds for some time.
The Irwins and Chandler served as sources of joy for their followers during those early days of the pandemic. People loved seeing pictures of the beautiful animals they care for, and also enjoyed watching the family’s everyday adventures…even if their adventures were within the confines of Australia Zoo.
One day, Bindi, Robert, and Chandler were working around the zoo when they happened to hear some banjo music playing. The trio couldn’t resist the sound of the upbeat music, and began dancing right where they were.
Robert posted a short video of their “Impromptu isolation banjo boogie,” and it looks like they were having a blast!
Bindi bounced around and giggled, while Chandler was showcasing some pretty smooth moves in the background. He commented on Robert’s post, writing, “The banjo might be my spirit sound… Haha!”

Bindi loves to dance, and she’s good at it too. In case you didn’t know, Bindi competed on the 21st season of Dancing with the Stars in 2015 and she won!
Her impromptu banjo dance with her husband and brother doesn’t even come close to showcasing how talented of a dancer she is. Tune in to the clip below to watch one of her standout routines from DWTS so you can see what we mean.
