Congratulations are in order for Brett Young and his wife, Taylor!
On Wednesday (January 27), the “Mercy” singer announced that he and Taylor are expecting their second child. The news comes just 15 months after they welcomed daughter Presley Elizabeth on October 21, 2019.
Speaking to People, Brett explained why he and Taylor decided to have their kids be so close to each other in age:
“We really wanted them to be close enough in age so they could have a lot of things in common and be best friends,” he said. “Tay had her sister close in age growing up, so we both felt strongly we wanted Presley to have the same.”
Brett said this pregnancy has been a little harder on Taylor in comparison to her first. He said “the morning sickness is real this time,” but hopes “she will start to get more comfortable” now that she’s through her first trimester.
Baby Young is due to arrive this summer. “We feel very blessed!” Brett told People.
Brett also shared the news with his followers on social media. He posted a few photos from their People photo shoot, with the first image showing Presley looking at the camera while wearing a “Big Sister” shirt. Brett and Taylor held their daughter’s hands while Taylor cradled her baby bump.
“And then we were 4…It seems like just yesterday we found out our little Presley was on her way. We are beyond blessed by this growing little family!” Brett captioned the pictures.
Taylor posted the same photos on her own Instagram and wrote:
“Sweet baby, you are already so loved and we cannot wait to meet you! Baby #2 coming this summer.”
