American Idol announced a special musical tribute for the late contestant Mandisa, who passed away on April 18 at the age of 47.
The upcoming episode airing on April 29 will feature the tribute.
During Sunday night’s episode, the show’s host, Ryan Seacrest, expressed condolences and revealed that the show will “celebrate her next week with a very special musical tribute.”
“Before we go to break, we wanted to take a moment to honor a dear member of the ‘Idol’ family, who we sadly lost this week, Mandisa. She was an inspiration during her time here on the show and beyond. Our hearts go out to her family and those like us who call her a friend.”
Additionally, the tribute will celebrate Mandisa’s life with a very special musical performance.
Mandisa, known for her participation in the 2005 season of American Idol, where she finished in ninth place, achieved further success in her career. She garnered attention for her Grammy win in 2014 for the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
Additionally, in 2022, she published a memoir titled “Out of the Dark.” The memoir provides insights into her personal and professional journey, offering readers a deeper understanding of her experiences and challenges.
