The upcoming episode of American Idol, titled “Songs of Faith,” was confirmed by PEOPLE on Thursday (April 3).
The outlet shared that the episode, airing April 20, will be packed with performances from contestants, special guests, and even the judges.
Special guests include CeCe Winans, Roman Collins, Jelly Roll, Brandon Lake, and The Brown Four.
On top of that, all three judges, Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan, will perform, but it’s unclear whether they’ll each have solo performances, come together for one big group performance, or possibly both.

Idol Contestants Faced The Show’s Biggest Elimination Cut In History During Season 23’s Hollywood Week
During the hometown auditions, 144 hopefuls impressed the judges and earned a Golden Ticket to Hollywood.
On last Monday’s episode (March 31), those contestants took the stage once again, this time performing not just for the judges but also in front of their competition for the first time.
The stakes were high from the start. The show announced that more than half of the contestants would be sent home by the end of the first Hollywood round.
Dedicated viewers of the show know that this was the biggest elimination in Idol history. Only 62 singers advanced, and from there, just 24 will make it through the Showstopper Round.

Hollywood Week is always a high-pressure experience for contestants hoping to become the next American Idol winner. Thankfully, they have judges who understand exactly what they’re going through, especially newcomer judge Carrie Underwood.
She knows firsthand what it’s like to perform under pressure, even making a mistake during her own Hollywood Week in Season 4. However, she still managed to go on to win the entire competition.
In a video released by Idol, Underwood looked back on the moment she forgot her lyrics on stage. However, she says that she believes a slip-up isn’t necessarily an automatic elimination. What truly matters is how contestants handle the moment and recover from it.
“I did forget the words, but I feel like in that moment it was more about how you jumped back in.”
You can watch Carrie Underwood reflect on the rest of her Hollywood Week experience in the video below.
