Mattie Jackson Selecman is married! The oldest daughter of country legend Alan Jackson, said “I do” to Connor Smith on Friday, May 12.
The ceremony union took place at The Breakers Palm Beach resort in Florida roughly five years after the tragic death of her first husband, Ben Selecman. Mattie shared photos from the stunning ceremony on social media, saying, “Wooooo we did it!! Grateful is a gigantic understatement. More pretty pics to come later – off to the islands with my HUSBAND!”
Posts shared by Mattie and some of her guests give a glimpse inside the stunning black tie event. Photos show guests smiling and dancing at the reception that included a live band and personalized desserts. One clip shows the bride sharing a dance with her dad, Alan.
“I cannot believe how good our God is to redeem broken hearts the way he does,” Mattie wrote in an Instagram post when she announced her relationship with Smith in April 2022. She also shared how she met her new beau.
“Six months ago today I met one of my best friend’s brother-in-law for happy hour with no expectations besides a little fun. Well, four hours later, drinks turned to dinner, and from that day til now, he has been one surprise after another,” Mattie captioned a series of photos, adding that she had prayed that she would have the chance to love again. “Other dear widow friends assured me that my heart could heal and expand to love two people equally, though differently. And I hoped so desperately that would really be true.”
In September, Mattie and Connor got engaged while celebrating Connor’s 30th birthday. Mattie shared the news along with a series of photos of her and her new fiance. “Well… came down for a beach week to celebrate my sweet man’s 30th birthday. Didn’t know we’d end up celebrating choosing the rest of our lives together,” she wrote.
Mattie Jackson was previously married to Ben Selecman. The pair were married for less than a year when Selecman died after falling on a boat dock.

In the years since Ben’s death, Mattie has turned her hurt into hope. In 2012 she penned a book called “Lemons on Friday” where she detailed Ben’s accident and the grief process that followed.
Congratulations to Mattie and Connor!
