At an age when most kids are just learning to speak in complete sentences, a little boy named Daniel was singing Elvis songs. A video shared by Daniel’s dad shows the 2-year-old delivering a nearly pitch-perfect cover of “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”
Steven Converse, a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and a talented musician, shared the video on a Facebook page devoted to his own music. The clip shows little Daniel in his dad’s home studio, wearing headphones and standing in front of the mic. As his dad begins to pay the guitar, Daniel starts to sing the familiar lyrics of the Elvis Presley hit.
“He’s always kind of shy about singing and stuff, but this is one song he really picked up on,” Converse told Good Morning America.”He really amazed us.”
The proud dad posted the video to share a “special family moment,” but had no idea that it would get so much attention. The video garnered a lot of views, but Converse made it clear that he has no intention of making a dime off of his son and won’t be pushing him to make any new videos.
“Please understand that my intent of sharing the video was to spread the joy that the moment brought our family; judging by the overwhelming response and touching comments, it’s mission accomplished. Bottom line: no money to be made and nothing to sell you, just a dad who loves music and my family and will continue posting in that vein,” Converse wrote.
While we can only hope that little Daniel graces us with more beautiful music in the future, we’ll be content listening to him sing “Can’t Help Falling In Love” over and over again while we wait. Hear the clip of Daniel singing in the video below.
