As 2022 comes to a close, we wanted to look back on some joyful moments in country music news this year…the births of new babies!
Artists such as Scotty McCreery and Luke Combs became first-time parents in 2022. Others, such as Randy Houser and Chris Lane, gave their children a new sibling.
Voice champion Jake Hoot had a new baby this year, and American Idol finalist Gabby Barrett also added to her family.

Even though Kodi Jane was not born in 2022, we had to include her in this year’s list!
Kane Brown and his wife, Katelyn, surprised their fans on New Year’s Eve last year when they revealed that Katelyn gave birth to a baby girl on December 30, 2021. They kept Katelyn’s pregnancy secret, and never publicly announced they were expecting. That’s why the news of Kodi’s birth was such a surprise.
Baby Kodi joined her big sister, Kingsley, who celebrated her third birthday this October.

Maddie & Tae‘s Taylor Dye and her husband, Josh Kerr, welcomed their first child on January 17. Taylor gave birth to a baby girl named Leighton Grace.
Leighton was born three months early. She finally got to come home 53 days after her birth. Thankfully, Leighton seems to be doing well now!

The Wreckers’ Michelle Branch and her husband Patrick Carney of The Black Keys welcomed their second child together on February 2. They had a baby girl named Willie Jacquet.
The couple also shares a son, named Rhys. Michelle has an older daughter, named Owen, who she shares with her ex-husband Teddy Landau.

“Love You Like That” Singer Canaan Smith and his wife, Christy, welcomed a baby boy in February. They named him Ramsey Canaan.
Baby Ramsey is Canaan and Christy’s second child. They also share a daughter, named Virginia Rose.

Runaway June’s Jennifer Wayne and her husband Austin Moody welcomed their first child on April 18. Jennifer gave birth to a baby girl, Lily Maria.
Jennifer is the granddaughter of legendary Western star John Wayne. So that means baby Lily is his great-granddaughter!

Drew Scott is most well-known as the star of various shows on HGTV. But he and his twin brother Jonathan also have their own country music duo called The Scott Brothers.
Drew and his wife, Linda Phan, welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on May 4. They named him Parker James.
Lucy Lu Hunt
Sam Hunt and his wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Lucy Lu, sometime in May. The exact date of her birth has not been announced.
The couple has not shared any photos of Lucy on social media. But fans believe she can be seen in a family video Sam posted in July.

Evan and Staci held off on announcing their son’s name for awhile. They finally shared his name three months after his birth…it’s Everett Augustus!

Georgia has two older sisters and a big brother: Stella June, Lillie Mae, and Arlo. Their mama Holly is Hank Jr.’s daughter, making her Hank Sr.’s granddaughter. That means Georgia and her siblings are Hank Jr.’s grandkids…and Hank Sr. is their great-grandfather!

The couple named their baby boy Merrick in honor of Gabi’s father, who shares the same name. Because of this, their son will go by his middle name, which is Avery.
