On Monday afternoon (June 7), a tornado touched down in Colorado. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Boulder issued a a tornado warning in Platteville on Monday through 6 p.m. MT.

They tweeted, “This tornado is still on the ground. Moving just to the west of Platteville, or ESE of Mead. Take cover now if in this area!”

The weather was so bad that the Denver International Airport issued a warning to travelers, saying, “Nearby tornado warnings and weather causing departure and arrival delays.”

At 6:02pm, the tornado warning had expired and damage surveying would begin Tuesday morning (June 8).
