Scotty McCreery is a married man! The American Idol champ wed Gabi Dugal, his girlfriend of six years, on Saturday.
McCreery and Dugal exchanged vows in front of more than 200 of their loved ones in a ceremony that took place in the mountains of North Carolina, PEOPLE reports. The wedding capped a weekend of festivities for the couple that included a Cajun-style shrimp boil on Thursday night and a rehearsal dinner on Friday.
For the ceremony that was officiated by McCreery’s childhood pastor, Dugal wore a stunning white sleeveless gown with a plunging neck line designed by Morilee.
The bride and her new groom, both 24 years old, danced their first dance as husband and wife to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The impressive reception menu featured Cajun cuisine as an ode to the bride’s Louisiana roots. And, as predicted by the groom in a recent interview, guests feasted on an assortment of southern pies instead of traditional wedding cake.
“I kept it very classic,” said Dugal. “I went with greenery and white flowers, some lanterns and candle votives [for a] rustic feel. We fell in love with the mountains during the summertime, and our [venue] is like a little castle in the woods.”
