Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines welcomed their fifth child Saturday morning (June 23). Chip first announced the news via Twitter, saying, “And then there were 5,” he wrote. “The Gaines crew is now 1 stronger! 10 beautiful toes and 10 beautiful fingers all accounted for, and big momma is doing great!”

Late Saturday, Joanna posted to Instagram for the first time since the new addition’s arrival and shared photos and more details about the birth. According to Joanna, Crew Gaines made a hasty arrival two and a half weeks early. The photos show an absolutely glowing Joanna looking at her new son as well as photos of Chip supporting her during labor and a picture of her children meeting their new brother for the first time.
“Our baby boy, Crew Gaines, is here and we couldn’t be more in love. He made an unexpected (and speedy) entrance into the world two and a half weeks early – which is fitting given he was a sweet surprise from day one. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful,” Joanna wrote.

But one of Joanna’s favorite photos of the day was one shared by her friend after Crew was born. It shows the Gaines’ other four children, Drake (13), Ella Rose (11), Duke (9), and Emmie Kay (8), right outside of her hospital room door, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new baby.

Crew’s name will most likely come as a surprise to fans of the Gaines’ who anticipated that they would maintain their tradition of using “D” names for the boys and “E” names for the girls.
