The Voice Season 14’s live rounds kicked off Monday (April 16) and it was a night jam-packed with performances as the remaining contestants vie for a coveted spot in the Top 12.

We were treated so some amazing classic country performances including a cover of Patty Loveless’s 1995 hit “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am” by Team Kelly’s Kaleb Lee. The 32-year old looked the part as he donned a black cowboy hat and suit as he strummed his guitar and put some soul into the emotional ballad.

But, Kaleb’s performance wasn’t enough to guarantee his spot in the Top 12 as he failed to obtain enough fan votes. But, that doesn’t mean the end for Lee. In fact, he will continue to fight this week for one of the last two spots on Clarkson’s team.

Kaleb Lee first won us over when he delivered an impressive performance of Kenny Chesney’s “Never Wanted Nothing More” during the show’s Blind Auditions and got chair turns from Clarkson and Blake Shelton.

“Your voice would stand out on country radio because it’s so gravelly, a little bit bluesy sounding,” Shelton told Lee following his audition. The compliment was enough to convince Kaleb to join Team Blake. But, when Kaleb failed to beat fellow Team Blake member Pryor Baird during the Battle Round, Kelly Clarkson swooped in with her steal and added Lee to her team.

If Monday night’s performance is any indication, Kaleb Lee has a bright future in country music ahead of him regardless of whether he moves on to the Top 12 or not.
